Welcome to the website of the Addiction Prevention Centre (APC).

It is with great pleasure that I recently joined the APC’s team (notice of appointment). The APC mission is to promote the fight against addictions that affect the well-being of the populations such as alcohol, illicit drugs, medications, tobacco, gambling and computer addiction, by focusing on sensitizing organizations and the population.

To achieve our mission, my team and I actively participate in the advancement and dissemination of knowledge in the field of addictions. This is why we develop, assess and make available a variety of information, prevention and early intervention tools to our different clienteles.

By working with the scientific community, field practitioners and the media, we ensure adequate and appropriate knowledge sharing that meets the needs of the Quebec and Canadian population.

The 2012 APC calendar will be a busy one with the deployment and evaluation of the French version of the APTE Individuel in ten high schools throughout Quebec, the release of the revised edition of the bestseller "Drugs: Know the Facts, Cut Your Risks", the release of the interactive game on tobacco Platamort, the establishment of new partnerships and developing our presence on the major social media networks.
